He is well versed in all matters contractual and commercial and will act as your sherpa-guide navigating you safely through the pitfalls of the subcontracting world.
Supporting Your Success
After witnessing firsthand the wrongful treatment of some excellent suppliers at various points in his career, Jacob is passionate about righting the wrongs of the contractor:subcontractor relationship. Arming you with the knowledge, skills and tools to protect your business, maximise your opportunities and navigate around risks.
Jacob wants to bring an end to the late payment culture in the construction industry and prevent large contractors with armies of quantity surveyors and legal support from trampling on the very suppliers they cannot function without.
Subcontractors are the backbone and the workhorse of the construction industry. In a world where main contractors rarely employ as much as 10% of the typical project workforce, subcontractors should be supported and treated as part of team. However they are regularly dealt large risks, under harsh contractual terms, and onerous conditions.
Coupled to this around 53% of all payments in the construction industry are made late. It's plain to see how cashflow becomes a problem and insolvency in the industry is worryingly common.
Jacob's mission is to support the 1 Million SME contractors working within the construction industry. Creating an industry-changing education and support community for sub-contractors.
